Regalix organizes Social Media Bootcamp: Workshop for Marketing professionals in the Bay Area

Palo Alto, March 26, 2010 – Regalix, a technology and digital marketing services company, hosted a Bootcamp on Social Media Marketing. Titled – “Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and Flickr — Your Pages Are set up, but what’s next?”

There was strong participation from Bay-area companies operating in verticals like Software, Financial Services, Retail and Entertainment. This event was organized on March 25th, 2010 at Four Seasons Hotel in Palo Alto. With most of the companies today already having started with social media implementation, this session was aimed at creating a discussion on what follows after you have created presence on social networks

The event was set up as a workshop with interactive question and answer sessions. The speakers were – Vikas Sharan, CEO – Regalix, Brendan Farnell – Interactive Analyst & Dir. Client Services and Shivraj Asthana – Executive VP.

Senior marketing executives and key decision-makers from companies like – Quantum, Playspan, Accenture and Qualys attended this workshop. The event was moderated and hosted by Jonathan Curtis – VP, Business Development at Regalix.

Through this workshop, aimed at both business-to-business and consumer organizations, participants discussed the best practices for social media optimization and the ways to scale. Some of the interesting points that came up in the discussion were –

  • Majority of the companies are now moving steadily up the social media adoption ladder. They are already leveraging some of the major social media avenues viz. – Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, and are now trying to take this one step further by moving from collecting fans to now monetizing those channels
  • Marketers are concerned about possibly losing control of the brand in the social age and the risk of detractors. The workshop covered points on how can brand managers open up their brand in social media, be inclusive and guide conversations in a way
  • Measuring ROI on social media still needs more clarity. The discussion brought to light some of the measurable metrics & business goals that should be closely monitored in the social media and how to optimize on them.

This workshop was a part of the continuing series of events that Regalix will be hosting throughout the year. These workshops are by-invitation only and aimed at furthering conversations on social media.
