Regalix organizes second installment of its Social Media Bootcamp: Workshop for Marketing professionals in the Bay Area

San Jose, May 27, 2010 – Regalix, a technology and digital marketing services company, hosted a second workshop in the ongoing series of Bootcamp on Social Media Marketing – “Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and Flickr — Your Pages Are set up, but what’s next?”

Encouraged by the overwhelming response to the first workshop, Regalix organized the second workshop at Hilton San Jose, drawing participation from prominent companies in the Bay Area and beyond – Netapp, Keynote Systems, Sierrapine, NAVTEQ and Zenprise and several others representing verticals like Software, Financial Services, Retail and Entertainment.

The three hour session drew lively participation through presentation, discussion, Q&A and sharing of experience around managing social media. While the general focus of the workshop was on the next steps in this fast evolving channel, the goal in this session was to explore ways to scale and measure ROI from social media campaigns.

Most of the discussions were centered on the following points

  • How to transition from building fan base to leveraging the network for marketing purposes.. As companies are moving steadily up the social media adoption ladder., They have created presence on social media viz. – Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, and are now they are eager to take the next steps.
  • Possibility of losing control of the brand in the social age and the risk of detractors. The group discussed prose and cons and concluded that the change is inevitable and the best way is to be proactive and not always be led by momentum in the social space. The workshop covered ways on how brand managers can open up their brand in the social media, be inclusive and guide conversations
  • Measuring ROI on social media still needs more clarity. The discussion brought to light some of the metrics & measurable business goals that should be monitored and optimized for large business impact
  • Enabling policies to encourage employee participation in social media as strong brand ambassadors drew a general agreement

The speakers were – Vikas Sharan, CEO – Regalix, Brendan Farnell – Interactive Analyst & Dir. Client Services and Shivraj Asthana – Executive VP. And Jonathan Curtis, VP Business Development was the host.
