Regalix Hosts Panel Discussion on "Social Media as part of your Marketing Stimulus Plan in 2009"

Palo Alto CA, June 23, 2009 - Regalix, a technology and digital marketing services company, along with Forrester Research and MetricStream hosted a panel discussion on "Social Media as part of your Marketing Stimulus Plan in 2009". There was strong participation for the session from companies operating in verticals like Software, Financial Services, Retail and Entertainment. This is the first of a series that Regalix will be hosting over the next few months. The event was hosted on June 22nd at Four Seasons Hotel in Palo Alto.

The event was set up as a panel discussion followed by an interactive question and answer session. The panel was led by Laura Ramos, VP & Principal Analyst, Forrester Research; Gaurav Kapoor, General Manager & CFO of MetricStream Inc. a Kleiner Perkins backed Givernance, Risk and Compliance Company; and Vikas Sharan, CEO of Regalix.

Senior marketing executives and key decision-makers from companies like – CA, HSBC, TIBCO, Tealeaf, Solazyme, Openwave Systems, Lyris and Kazeon, participated in the event.

The discussion focused on how companies can leverage Social Media for B2B marketing. Topics included ideas for creating an engaging online community, how to leverage existing social networks, and whether to build a vertical industry portal or tap into existing, third-party communities. B2B marketers are experimenting with Networks, Groups, Blogs and Knowledge Assets to drive community-led brand engagement, research, support and lead generation.

Some of the interesting discussions were around: –
  • Competitive advantage of community led interactions – how B2B companies can carve out a niche for themselves in a highly fragmented and competitive marketplace with limited ad dollars.
  • How to manage and moderate negative community comments from bloggers, Tweeters and forum discussions.

The interactive discussion revealed how some of the leading B-to-B marketers in the Bay Area are leveraging social media.
